Innocence certainly overemphasized for children, but understated for adults. The “art” of being innocent is not an act of ignorance, but rather, a desired character trait that arguably grows more vivid with age. To be able to almost continuously see gumdrops and roses in a predominantly one-track, filth-minded planet is both remarkable and a sure gift, but is that really what innocence entails? Well, from what I’ve observed over time……um….yes, basically. I’m willing to have my inferences challenged, but I’d honestly have trouble seeing that word’s meaning equate to anything else.
